Making a gift where most needed helps the AGS Foundation achieve its mission to support glaucoma research and education, and to promote excellence in the care of patients with glaucoma. Give $365 to achieve our Partners Circle, a dollar a day will go far to support glaucoma initiatives.
AGS Cares is a public service program supported by the AGS Foundation that is dedicated to providing surgical glaucoma care at no cost to uninsured or underserved patients. Glaucoma care is provided by members of a national network of volunteers comprising glaucoma surgeons who are AGS members.
AGS Family Matters is a public service program supported by the AGS Foundation that connects first-degree relatives of glaucoma patients to physicians who can provide free glaucoma screening. First-degree relatives have up to a 10-fold higher risk of glaucoma than the general population and catching glaucoma in its early stages significantly reduces the risk of future vision loss.
The George L. Spaeth, MD International Glaucoma Fellowship Fund was launched in late 2022, to honor and celebrate the career of AGS’s first president and one of its founders, Dr. George Spaeth. This program will fund a US Glaucoma Specialist to travel to a developing country, to help foster and promote excellence in Glaucoma care in the developing world.
AGS Clinician Scientist Grants encourage the development of young and mid-career clinician scientists in glaucoma by providing funding for research projects with a goal of optimizing care for glaucoma patients with hopes to find a cure.
This multi-faceted mentoring program fulfills the mission of the AGS by supporting early career glaucoma specialists and scientists by providing tools and resources to further their careers as potential leaders in the science, research and the specialty of glaucoma care.
Join the Presidents Circle by contributing $1,000 or more toward our efforts in glaucoma research and care. $1,000+ donors are invited to attend a special donor reception at the AGS Annual Meeting each year. Presidents Circle donations are allocated where most needed.
